I'm getting bored with the foods I eat at home. I'm doing some grocery shopping tomorrow and I want to get something different for the rest of the week. I definately want to continue to eat healthy stuff (no empty calaries, as DH loves to point out...) so if you have some suggestions, or recommendations...do share! TIA
Re: PG ladies: What do you eat?
Funny! I am sitting here and thinking I should post about what to eat for meals and mainly snacks (while I am teaching) on the bump! You beat me to it
I can't wait to see what everyone says!
Granted, it depends a lot on what you are craving or what food aversions you have...
I went through a hummus and pita bread phase with both of my pregnancies, as well as a melon phase. I eat a lot of almonds, pecans, and cashews. Lots of salad and raw veggies with salad dressing/dip. I eat a lot of soup, especially when I am not feeling very hungry but know that I have to eat something or I'll feel nauseated. I eat a lot of cereal and granola, and I've been on a blueberry muffin kick lately.
Does that help at all?

Really the only difference in my food now & pre-preg is that I have incorporated more fruit. When I'm in Austin, I try to hit up Whole Foods for a good variety of different types.
I'm also trying to get in more calcium, so I'm eating yogurt, small amounts of ice cream, and smoothies.
Apples with Peanutbutter
Fresh Fruit Salad (digging the pineapple these days)
Almonds
I ate Nature Valley Granola Bars a lot in my first pregnancy - Peanutbutter flavor, mmmmm.
Cucumbers
Frozen Blueberries
Greek Yogurt with Honey
uhhh everything in sight (j/k)!!
my biggest craving (following s-a-r-a-h) has been pizza by far. I have a food aversion to chicken but LOVE beef. I will eat chicken occasionally, but it just doesn't appeal to me as much. I also crave french fries too. Now, if you are looking for healthy... I make a lot of dinner salads. I'll use chix or beef (marinate it) and make a salad with corn, black beans, tons of veggies and avacado. I make a jalapeno ranch dressing to top it (usually using a lite ranch) - I think I am making this tonight.
I also like baked/ girlled fish (salmon, tilapia) on a wood plank- super easy cook and cleanup and I've made a few casseroles if I'm not in the mood to really cook.
HTH!!!
