1st birthday party help??

I know a 1 year old is too young to even remember it, but i still really want to do a theme for his first birthday party. I thought about possibly doing a bubble theme party complete with a bubble machine and a ball pit.  I have a pretty big (and overly opinionated) family that will be traveling pretty far to come to his party.  They seem to think that i would be crazy not to do a pumpkin/fall/costume party being that his birthday party will be held mid october.  i think the idea is cute but wasn't sure if I wanted his birthday party to become a halloween party.  What do you guys think?? Should I stick with the possible bubble theme or go with the halloween party??

  • Do what YOU want!  I think the bubble theme and ball pit sound like a fun idea.  I for one have a birthday in early Oct and my brother has a birthday in late October and I would hate it if we EVER had a costume/fall themed birthday party....I wouldn't want my birthday combined with Halloween.  I know he won't know anyway, but as a parent I wouldn't want to combine the holidays - Halloween is enough in itself - no need to add it to your child's birthday.  Doing something different sounds like that way to go!

  • Do what YOU want to do.  Connor's b-day is the 4th of July and for his first b-day I wanted to make it all about the Red, White and Blue, but I knew that I wouldn't want to do that every year.  This year we went with something he was interested in, fish.  So, if you want to do a Bubble theme (which I think is really cute BTW) then do it.  Don't let what others think you should do make the decision for you, this is your child and your party.

  • YOUR kid = YOUR party.

Do what YOU want to do. And I think the bubbles are very cute!

  • I love the bubble Idea...its a cute idea and fun for a 1st birthday! I am in the October baby club too and I want his bday to stay seperate from Halloween. We are doing a firefighter theme which is what my DH and Stepson both had for their 1st bdays so I wanted to carry on the tradition.
