What do you order from Schwan's?

I see the Schwan's delivery guy in my neighborhood and have considered trying them out. What do you order from them? How are their prices? TIA!

  • we order the chicken kiev.  it is pretty good, but lately we have been having trouble with them bursting open when cooking, which defeat the purpose of the kiev.  i think they are $12 for a box of 4 chicken maybe?

my mom and dad order A LOT of stuff from them...popsicles, desserts, things for my dad to make when he is on his own for dinner, etc.

  • We have ordered lots of stuff.  Ice cream(awesome), Popsicles, apple flatus, pirogies, egg roils, chicken sticks, fried, sweet corn (awesome) and tons of other stuff!

Some of the stuff is pricey but you don't have to go to the store to get it so that is a plus!

  • My brother is a Schwan's man and I love their food.  It's slightly more expensive than grocery stuff, but I think it tastes better.

We order the Turkey Tenderloin & Gravy a lot, which is great with whole wheat noodles or rice.  And it's surprisingly healthy - if you've ever done WW, it's only 4 points, which is great for an entree.

Their ice cream and frozen yogurt is delicious, but I do think it's a bit expensive.

Frozen veggies are WAY better than what you buy in the grocer's freezer.  I love the green beans, peas, and cobbettes.

H eats the taquitos for lunch sometimes - easy and fast.  I keep the chicken breasts on hand for fast lunches too.

    Hope this helps!

  • We order:  green bean fries (I don't care for green beans, but these are yummy), onion rings, motz sticks, fried rice, chicken tenders, pizza, pancakes, bagel dogs, strawberry paleta bars (they are new and are so delicious), my husband gets the flatbread melts, teriyaki bowls, all kinds of stuff.  We have ordered the steak for steak and cheese sandwiches.  I order this one type of bread all the time. It comes in a pack of 3, I think it's french.  I love to make it when we have spaghetti or a caserole.  They have a lot of good stuff.  Cost wise, I don't think they are expensive, I think their prices are pretty reasonable for the amount and quality of food you are getting.  The only thing I have ever bought and not liked was the apple cinnamon french toast sticks.  We have been buying the last 4 years from them.

If you go on their website, I think your first order you get like $10 off or something.  Also, they have specials every time they come, sometimes $2 off certain items.

  • diddo on the sweet corn, especially in the middle of winter, it tastes just like it's fresh out of the garden.

  • We just bought some stuff from them!  I did think it was a little more expensive, but much more convenient.  We got the roast & gravy(AWESOME), icecream (very good), Turkey & Gravy meal with veggies was pretty good, queso dip (Awesome!), H loves the shrimp and scallop skewers, and something else... but so far everything we've tried is really, really good!
