If you're planning to send photo birth announcments out...

where are you planning to get them printed? I love the designs on etsy, but then I dont know where you can get custom photo cards printed, I keep looking online but most places make you use their designs. Any suggestions? TIA

Re: If you're planning to send photo birth announcments out...

  • prob tinyprints.com or shutterfly.com

if you purchase a pdf on etsy, you can just have them printing at any drug store/target in their photo machines.

  • Loading the player...
  • I am doing mine through walgreens.com and pick them up at the store. I did Christmas cards that way, and it was so easy and fairly inexpensive.

  • im making my own on - www.scrapblog.com you can make the page and the export to a picture and print them from blacks or walmart - most of the designs are free!
  • I'm probably going to do Shutterfly.... I loved the way our Christmas Cards turned out from them.

  • Costco!  They are super cheap and they look great.
  • sry lurking over here...

I do my cards at shutterfly.com- and if you want you can even have them address, stamp, and send them.  I am going to do this as addressing and stamping are the hardest parts and I don't want to have to worry about it.  So I am adding everyone I am sending one to in my address before LO gets here.  That way all I will have to do is add the pic of LO

  • Probably snapfish.  I think that's where I had my xmas cards done and they turned out nice.  I'll peruse the other websites though to see which design I like best.  Kodak or Shutterfly are always options too.

  • I called walgreens and looked at shutterfly and it looks like you have to use their design templates. BUT, I think I am overthinking this... wouldnt I just order 5X7 prints of my etsy designed announcment? Isn't that the same?
  • I usually make my own announcement, holiday cards, etc. I get most of my stuff from www.paper-source.com. They don't do printing but have lots of great supplies.

however, I have used www.invitationconsultants.com before and really like their stuff.

  • mpix.com - the quality is amazing!  I printed my wedding thank-yous from mpix.com and they turned out amazing!
  • Fedex/Kinkos!  I'm a graphic designer, and I print stuff through them all the time (both for business and personal stuff).

  • awesome, mpix lets you upload your own design, thanks jlb. Do you know anything about the add on "luster finish? Did you get it for your wedding thank yous?
  • Probably tinyprints. I would love something custom but I probably won't be up to it when the time comes.
  • Most of my clients use Mpix, so I highly recommend them.  I use their pro version a lot myself.  Mpix has great quality prints and great prices, too.

  • Vistaprint.com is also very affordable and have design templates, or you can create your own. If you sign up for their mailing list they have excellent deals all the time, including "free" offers where you just pay shipping - a great deal.
