I recently (within the last month) have had a huge decrease in my milk supply. I started my period for the first time since I had her and I have been exercising...does that have anything to do with it? I pump three times at work and only get 8 - 12 oz / day. She eats 15 -18 oz / day at daycare. I feed her at night and lately she has been eating longer and fussing more at night (maybe because i am not making as much milk??). What should I do? My goal was to wean her at 1 year without giving her any formula but I think I am going to have to give her formula. Any suggestions/ideas on how to increase milk supply or transition from BM to formula? Thanks!
Re: Decrease in supply (10 months)
When I started my period back up I had a drop in my supply and the exercising may also be contributing to it. Alot of people say good things about Mother's Milk Tea I just pumped very often (every 2-3 hrs or nurse alot) on the weekend and my supply would jump back up. For me it got harder and to maintain my supply and around 10/11 mths and I figured I had done well enough so we started transitioning to whole milk. We did this very slowly (80/20, 70/30, 60/40 and so on) so it took about 1.5 mths to get him completely transitioned.
BTW I thought about transitioning him to formula because we had many unused cans but he'd just turn his nose up at it.
