Hey there ladies! We sort of decided to do a 1st Tri shoutout once a week to see how we're all doing, since we're in the same stages.
Today marks 11 weeks for me.. I'm amazed that I only have another 1-2 weeks in first tri. I'm still not showing, but my bloat is starting to get harder. When lying down, I can feel my uterus above my pubic bone, but my pooch is still the bit of fat it was before.. lol.
Most of the nausea is now gone, but I find I'm not eating very much. I try to eat a little something every couple of hours, but not much food appeals to me.
My NT scan is on Tuesday, and I'll finally meet my OB/peri a week from today.
What's up with you ladies??
Re: Twin Mamas-To-Be - 1st Tri
Hi! I'm almost 8 weeks and very nauseous. I really hope that mine tapers off in a few weeks too! My doctor presribed phenergan for me yesterday but I decided not to take it for now. I'm able to keep most food and water down so I don't think I *need* it, as much as I would like something to help with the nausea. It's worst at night so I've been going to bed earlier and earlier to try to sleep through the worst of it.
I have my next u/s next Thursday and then hopefully I'll know whether I'm really going to be a twin mommy or not. Grow baby A, grow!
Hey there!
I just got my first dose of m/s about a week ago. Between the stress of thinking our twins were conjoined (thank god they're not) and not feeling stellar, I've lost 6 pounds in 10 days.
My DH and my mother have turned into food nazi's and I think I'm about to make a break for it. I know losing 6 pounds is not good. I know I need to eat more but back the eff off!
Friday I go for my 4th u/s and, if all goes well, I'm telling the boss on Monday.
Still fitting nicely into my fat clothes but have already bid a fond farewell to my skinny jeans.
EDIT: I love the idea of a twins weekly check-in. Thanks!
Hi there due date buddy. I am 11 weeks tomorrow. I am fat as a house - no kidding. I gained 10 lbs. I will say I was fairly tiny to begin with - 5'2 and a size 4/6. however, I did carry any extra lbs (about 5-7) I had all in my tummy, so I am with you - the pooch that I had there is still there and what i feel is HUGE. my dr. says my weight gain is right on target, but I feel like whale. In fact, I told my family this weekend and they said they already knew since when they saw me the week before my face was fuller. Tihs after DH swore to me all the weight was in my boobs and belly, not in my face ; ( I keep trying to feel my uterus, but I have no idea what I am looking for lol. Do you have dr. lukes book? it says with twins, the uterus is 4-6 weeks more than the week you are in.
I am opposite of you and have not had a problem with nausea or eating (as you can tell from above) but I have had major food aversions to meat - mostly big hunks of it like a chicken cutlet and esp chopped meat of any kind (hamburgers, meatballs) I don't think I am getting enough protein, but I am trying my damndest. I just read today that a good way to get more was to put powdered milk into my regular milk, so I am going to try that.
I have my NT scan on Tueday too! did they tell you anything about it - i heard the bloodwork part can be off because of multiples, but haven't had a chance to confirm this with the dr.
Hi Ladies!
I'm lovin' the weekly check-in. DH and I just found out on Monday that we're having twins and we're feeling a bit overwhelmed (but overjoyed at the same time).
I'm currently 6 weeks and feeling pretty nauseaus. I'm finding it very hard to eat the extra calories. I get really hungry but then feel really full once I have a few bites. So, I'm trying to eat every couple hours.
We had our first trimester screen on Friday. Both babies' NT measurements were 1.3, and I received the bloodwork results back yesterday. Both babies have a 1 in 10,000 chance of having Down syndrome, Trisomy 13, and Trisomy 18. MH and I are really pleased about the healthy results and won't be doing any further testing.
As far as symptoms go, I'm still feeling sick to my stomach almost every night. I have also noticed an increase in my appetite in the last couple days, but I still have a strong meat aversion. I have pretty consistent hip pain, too. Other than that, things are great!
I think I will join in.
I have been sick since 5 weeks. Have been on phenergan, zofran, and an extra vitamin with b6 and some other b vitamins. All that wasn't cutting it, so I just added reglan into the mix last night. I think it's helping. I'm still managing to gain weight though. Probably since macaroni and cheese has been a staple. Still having almost daily migraines.
Released from the RE, and I see my regular OB in a little under 3 weeks.
Wore maternity pants for the first time yesterday. Haven't been able to zip my regular pants for a couple weeks and have been wearing a belly band. Got tired of messing with it, and am glad I made the switch.
Hi ladies,
I realize that the multiples board does a mom-to-be check in, but figured it couldn't hurt to have another one for those in the same trimester as each other just for fun. I hope they don't mind.
mindlek8 - I'm so cheering Baby A to grow!!! When will you find out again what his/her outcome is? I had a lot of nausea from weeks 6-9, and it's really eased off since then.. but never so bad I had to take anything for it. I think sleeping through it sounds good.. I love my sleep! P.S. I love the pic in your siggy of your dogs.. too cute!
babygirlpriest - I was following your posts about your twins, and was so happy to hear that they're not conjoined. I can't imagine the stress and worry you went through during that week of the unknown. I stress and worry so much as it is, and haven't had anything other than some spotting. I hear ya on the food nazi.. my husband has started asking me every evening what I ate that day. It seems like plenty of food while I'm eating, but in retrospect, apparently not enough to feed me plus two. Ugh. My fat clothes still fit, but I bought some flowy shirts at Old Navy this weekend, with room to grow.
eileenm21 - yay due date buddy! I imagine that just SEEING a 10 pound gain would make me feel huge.. but you were tiny to start with! I'm glad your doc has reassured you that you're on track. I haven't read Dr Luke's book yet.. but I'm also having trouble getting the protein in. Meat just.. does not appeal. I haven't been told anything different about the NT scan.. I'm wondering if that only applies when they were unaware there were twins? My NT sheet specifically indicates that it's a multiple pregnancy. I'll be sure to ask next week!
delos21 - Congrats on finding out you're having twins! It's definitely such a shock and surprise. This is my first pregnancy, so it's a little overwhelming thinking about dealing with TWO infants when I don't have experience even with one. However, it's so awesome at the same time. I completely understand the conflicting emotions. Let's not even talk about the financial implications!! I'm also feeling pretty full after just a couple bites. Just keep eating SOMETHING every couple hours, and try to get the protein in.
Ms.Scarlet - Congrats on the awesome NT results.. that must be such a relief. I hear so much about potential false positives.. I'm glad to see a twin pregnancy especially come back in such a normal range. Any photos from your NT scan? I'd love to see what I might expect next week. Did they guess at the genders? I can't relate to the hip pain.. but that must stink.
Have any of you started doing nursery decoration or shopping for itty bitty clothes? We've painted the room, but haven't made any furniture or clothing purchases yet.
I haven't done anything yet. I am going to go in about a week to look at nursery furniture since I have heard that the earlier you order the better because somethings can take 12 weeks. the room right now is pink and am kind of waiting on the sex to see if it even has to be changed. what color did you paint? ar eyou finding out the sex?
