EFF TTCers

It looks like a few of us are on right now, and since most posts are baby related, I thought it would be nice to know who else is out there.  So, how long have you been TTC, are you charting, what has your journey been like so far?

Re: EFF TTCers

  • This post doesn't really apply to me since I am TTA but I do chart so I want to be a quasi member of the club until we change our game plan.
  • We have been "trying" since last August, charting since Feb/March.  This month is our first appointment at a fertility center.  Hopefully we will get some answers and maybe find out if anything is wrong.  ::Baby dust:: to all of the other EFF TTCers!
  • DH and I are TTC.. but we are more in the category of TTTC.. we are just beginning our journey into IVF... it will be a years worth of "trying" next month *sigh*

  • I should answer my own question...

I stopped BC in March, but this is our first month "trying."  I'm doing OPK but not temping yet.  MH is still a little nervous about the whole TTC thing, and would like to "see what happens" for a while, so I'm trying to be good.  It is nice to know there are other TTCers on this board!

  • I have only been sans birth control pill for two months now.  We are not trying but not avoiding it either.  Just leaving things up to chance right now....
  • We are and have been for a while but really haven't done anything about it other than gulping the EFF water and praying because our insurance isn't so great right now

Good luck!  I have so many friends IRL with fertility problems, I'm almost convinced we will too.  Good news is, most of them have been very successful with fertility treatments!

  • I have been on the pill for probably 15 years or so.  Only now that I have any interest in actually having children am I finding out that birth control has the potential to permanently alter hormones and cause infertility problems.  I wish I had done my research 15 or so years ago....
  • TTC since October 2007, charting from the beginning, unexplained IF.  According to my obgyn, I'm healthy.  We will not be doing IVF, but may move to IUI.  We're also in the beginning stages of researching adoption agencies.

ETA: I also have had one loss, a pregnancy that ended as a blighted ovum.

isn't it awful?  i started charting when i stopped the pill in october and at first had crazy crazy short luteal phases - like 7-8 days past O kind of short - and over time and with B vitamins it's now usually 11.  my OB said that can be a very common prob for some women coming off BCP and it can take up to a year for your body to work itself out to 'proper' functioning.  i was on BCP for 12 years straight prior.  i don't think i'll ever return to hormonal bcp

I won't.  In the 3ish years I took it, I could never get the right dose.  The last pill I was on for 6 months made me a raving lunatic.

  • Newbie here!!!!

DH and I have been "trying" for two months---awaiting the good news or my AF on Sunday. We are not officially charting. Thinking about OPKs on cycle 3 but my fingers are crossed! Hopefully that wont be necessary =)

    Good luck all.......

yeah i had issues with that too.  maybe bcp works by making women such raving biitches that men don't want to get close enough to get them pg to begin with?  Wink

though honestly pixy i feel like you guys have been trying so long that if i were you i'd never worry about protected sex and figure if anything comes of it then it must be meant to be or something..  i'm always so hopeful for you..  sigh..  ::sprinkles extra baby dust on pixy::

I think adopting is such a wonderful thing!  I think if we have problems, we would do IUI a few cycles then move to adoption.  Good luck!
