Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Intro...

Hi Ladies,

Just wanted to introduce myself... I normally post up on the TTTC board, but after my loss last week, some of the girls suggested I check out this board too. DH & I have been TTC for nearly 2 years now with unexplained IF. I've been on Clomid, Femara, & Menopur treatments for the past 5 months (see siggy). Menopur combined with our first IUI seemed to have worked for us this last cycle but then I had a missed m/c which doc believes to have been a molar pregnancy based on what he saw in 2 u/s. My post-op appt isn't until next Monday as RE is on vacation. I'm assuming I'll get the pathology results at my follow up appt.

I started googling and americanpregnancy.org is saying that you can't TTC until after a year later if you've had a molar pregnancy. Someone tell me this isn't the case? I'm crushed... As if D&C wasn't bad enough, now I may possibly need to take a full year off before TTC again? I don't know if it was a partial or full molar pregnancy yet as I still am waiting for pathology results.

Has anyone had this experience? I'm feeling so helpless...

Re: Intro...

  • I'm so very sorry for your loss and all that you have been through to try and get pregnant. I believe what you have read is right that you have to wait quite a while before TTC again. I think there is a girl on TTCAL and she had to wait 7 months. I sure hope your RE tells you you don't have to wait that long.

    BIG HUG.

  • You should definitely check with your dr.. but yes, it can take that long.  They will not let you TTC until your levels go back to zero..with a molar pregnancy that can take a long time.  My friend had one and actually had to go through one round of chemo.  PM me and I can put you in touch with her.  Good luck.

  • I am really sorry for your loss and all that you are going through.  That is true what you are reading, I think the length of time depends on if you had a partial or a full molar pregnancy.  I would call your doctor and talk with them about it, there is some treatment that I'm pretty sure goes along with it, have you had any appts about it with them?

  • I'm so very sorry for your loss.  I can also empathize w/ you on the infertility struggles as I've been trying for two years too - it's so frustrating in and of itself and then to add on losses and longer waits till you can ttc again - arghh!  I really hope your pg wasn't molar at all and you can ttc again in a few months.  We're here for you either way - this board is amazing.
  • I'm so sorry for your loss.  I don't have any information on molar pregnancies though, sorry.
