while looking for instructions for all of my various wraps that don't work lol, i saw some videos of people wearing kids that were old. i am talking 3,4,5 year olds. is this the norm? and not in a back carrier camping thingie, in like side/front hold moby type wraps?
Re: babywearers: how long do you plan to , well, babywear?
Babywearing gets different as kiddo's get older - how often will you carry your older toddler? I plan to still wear him then as I'm sure there will be times when he won't want to walk for whatever reason, but I'm also sure it won't be nearly as much as I wear him now.
A woven wrap is way more comfy and supportive than those huge camping things ;-)

If we're out on a walk and Evan gets tired, I still put him in the Babyhawk if he wants up.
I still wear Abby when we're out shopping or running errands or going for a walk, but she doesn't want to be worn around the house anymore. She's far too busy chasing her big brother for that babywearing stuff...lol
My moby said it's good up to 35 lbs. I can't imagine carrying a child that weights that much on my back and a child that weighs that much wanting to be tied to me!
I plan on using my moby until Adam hates it or I can't physically tolerate it any more.
I should also add that the right carrier is important. A bjorn or moby would never cut it for me now and kiddo is only 18 pounds. I can easily wear him for hours in a woven wrap on my back though.
If it's sagging or hurts, it's either not a good carrier or it's not holding baby properly - babywearing shouldn't hurt!

That's the beauty of a back carry. Although I can still carry kiddo in front - or on my hip which I do more of now - it's nice to have him up behind me if I need my hands.
