Are those square foot gardens i see in your siggy?!?! Chat with me bout them - we're starting them next spring and I'm so excited!

    DH built the raised bed himself, out of redwood 4x4s.  It's 12" high, and I want to say 5'x10' in size.  I would love to add another bed or two next year, but it's pretty expensive.  All of the soil was hand carried by DH down to the back yard (we live on a mountain), 40lbs at a time. 

    I think if we had one more bed like that one, and another bed up on the deck for herbs, and possibly one more along our fence for shade stuff, I'd be thrilled.  That, and some cherry trees, an apple tree, and possibly a peach tree...  

    Oops, I think I just volunteered DH for quite a bit of work...
