Anyone go to Shady Grove in Maryland?

Just wondering if you got approved for the shared help program and for how much?  What do you think of Shady Grove.  I go to Fertilty Center of Maryland and like it but they don't have a shared help program.  Just looking for some more info.  Thanks!

The Shared Help Program is designed to help make fertility testing and treatment more affordable, by offering discounts to patients who have no insurance coverage for procedures and services needed and limited personal resources to cover the out-of-pocket expenses. Since the inception of the program in late 2008, 70% of Shared Help applicants have been approved for discounted treatment.

Shared Help provides patients, whose income is $85,000 or less, with a 10% to 50% discount off the cost of most fertility services provided by SGFC. The percentage discount is based on annual household income which is confirmed by two years of tax returns. Discounts do not apply when the fees are paid to an outside service and, therefore, not within our control. Services provided at one of SGFC 13 sites are eligible for discounts. All outside services are not eligible for discounts.

  • I didn't do the shared help program, but I do go to Shady Grove (Fair Oaks office) and I love it.  I love my doctor & my nurse, but all of the doctors & nurses I've ever met there have been great.

It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!

  • i have my 1st appointment with them in a couple weeks. i didn't know they had restrictions on income for the shared risk program. i wonder if they take a look at credit card bills whether that would have any impact on getting in. :)
  • i just looked at the website. does anyone know if there is a difference between their "shared risk" and "shared help" program.
  • I called and have a appt on the 12th.  They said it's 100% on income.
  • shared risk is for IVF and shared help program is for a discount off your fertilty treatment.
  • I am a Shady Grove (Columbia) patient and I love my Office...the whole staff is wonderful. Sorry but  I don't know anything about the shared risk program .
  • I go to Shady Grove at GBMC and see Dr. Katz. I really like them but have considered changing to Fertility Center of Maryland b/c Shady Grove has BMI restrictions for IVF. I am trying to lose the weight first before I make any decisions about changing clinics. But overall I really like SG!
