Have you noticed how hard it is to read cards for baby? I was in CVS today to buy a card to go with a gift I got for my friends 2nd baby and there wasn't a ton of choices. The most generic one said something like "Congratulations on your dream come true" I just couldn't buy it bc my friend knows about our IF and I thought it would be awkward even for her to get it knowing that MY dreams have been smashed. The other ones were wayyyy over the top about how perfect life is just by looking at that little face, how complete your life is now that you have a baby girl, blah blah blah. I couldn't even read them completely. So I got a blank one and wrote my own generic message. I still cried though when I licked the envelope.
Re: Buying baby card was worse than buying the gift.
I am sorry.
You are right... the card is worse. ( Hugs )
(those stinkin' cute little clothes are pretty bad, too!).
The cards suck......how terrible is this? I found one $1 card that is very generic and doesn't seem awkward coming from an IF patient. I stocked up on them and I don't even read it - I just sign my name and lick the envelope, so I don't have to read it. It's the least sappy one you could find. So, I only had to cry once for many baby cards.
