1st Trimester

12-13 weeks and not showing AT ALL - who's with me?

Who else is in week 12 or 13 and not showing at all? My tummy's flat as usual - even some of the excess bloat has decreased today! I have no weight shift, nothing unusual going on, my clothes all fit and look normal. I look decidedly NOT pregnant.

ETA: I asked this in part because it seems like everyone around me who has been pg in the past tells me that they were showing pretty much "right away." Some of my friends who know seem shocked that I'm not showing at all yet. It's making me wonder if something's wrong w/ the baby's growth, despite that many on these boards have said they didn't show until weeks 14-20.

  • I'm not showing either - but I am not really expecting to be for awhile.

  • I'm not there with this pregnancy yet, but that is totally normal... I didn't show at all with DD until I was closer to 17 weeks or something like that...

Edit: And that was when I could tell... other people couldn't. I didn't even look pregnant enough for strangers to make comments until I was over 30 weeks... and then I only had comments from 2 strangers.

  • I'm calling it the "calm before the storm".  Bloat has all but disappeared and no baby bump to show of yet.

  • I didn't show till 18 with my first.
  • I'm not necessarily showing, my mid section just seems to be getting thicker.

  • Nah, with the first, you won't.  I was hanging with my favorite mother-of-two this weekend.  She said with her first, at 20 wks, no one could tell she was pregnant.  With her second, also at 20 wks, people said, "You must be due any day now!!"

I, for one, am noticing people who know that I'm pregnant grinning goofily when they stare at my stomach.  My weight has redistributed so I'm more tube-like.  No waist really, and my belly's more curved.  It's def. not a baby bump though, which is what I want to tell people who freak me out with their goofy belly stares.

    Same for me.

  • I hope everything stays put for me for awhile.  I'm leaving for Mexico in less than a month & hoping I will still look ok in my bikinis so I'm not embarrassed.  That and I don't want my body to give me away before I decide to share the news w/ everyone.

  • I also didn't show or start wearing maternity cloths until week 18. It's hard though when you're excited for it.

  • I'm not. It looks like I've just had a few too many cheeseburgers.

  • That is what happened to me.  I didn't really start to show at all until 17 or 18 weeks.

I had some bloat before 17 weeks but it wasn't very noticeable and would disappear and reappear.

  • I did not show with DS until around 20 weeks...which is pretty common...none of my friends showed until at least week 16...
  • Didn't show with DD until closer to 20 and even then it wasn't very notable. It wasn't until 25 weeks that I started to pop out a little and then it was all downhill from there :)

No worries - your baby belly will come! And it's so much fun when it does!

  • I'm definitely not showing at all, but I still have some bloat and also feel like my midsection is getting thicker.  It's weird how I haven't gained any weight, but some of my clothes don't fit.  Oh well... it's all worth it! :)
  • Nah...I have a small bump but it's so low and small that nobody can see it.  i think that's normal especially with your first.  I'm just a little thicker in the middle like most of the others are saying, but I'm also a bit less bloated than I was, which is great.  Bloat was bothering me!

  • I have some bloat or just a tiny belly going, which this is my third and i'm shocked. But i have also lost 4lbs due to not being able to eat like i want to.

    This.

  • I broke out the maternity pants yesterday. I was trying to get by with the bella band, but it just wasn't cutting it for me. I don't think others would notice, but I can definitely see a change. DH said to me just this morning while getting ready for work "is that a little bump I see?" my Dad also said to me over the weekend "It's either you had a lot of beer this weekend or you've got a bump." Thanks Dad. ?
  • With my 1st pregnancy I didn't show until I was a full six months. I didn't even tell work (except boss because of my m/s) until then.
  • I'm still battling some bloat, but def. not showing.
  • Some bloat here as well but not really showing.  At this point your uterus is just above your pubic bone so I think it is normal to not have anything much other than bloat.

  • I didn't officially pop until about 20 weeks.  Even then it just looked like I was "thicker" in the middle!  My bump seemed to happen overnight!

  • I really did not start showing until around 20 weeks.  and even then it was more like a pouch rather then a full on bump.
