3rd Trimester

Have you bought nursing bras yet?

Just curious if you've started stocking up on these. I'm thinking maybe I should be watching for deals.

  • I haven't because I don't know about sizing...

  • I got a few sleep nursing bras since they're not as size specific and have a lot of stretch.  But, in my BF class, they recommended not buying any real bras until after your milk comes in and the initial engorgement goes away so you'll know what size you're really going to be :)
  • I bought a couple nursing tanks yesterday. My friend said that's all she wore the first week anyway- I bet I'll be the same. I agree with PP, and maybe after that first week I'll have a better idea of sizing.

ETA: I did buy a non-wire "sleeping" nursing bra... Ok, that is a horrible description- let me find the link for ya. Yup, ok this is it. It's basically a sports bra-type thing- very stretchy and comfy. (I sometimes wear it now, if I'm just hanging around the house but want a little support!)

  • Anyone know where to get good ones?? My motherhood one i have worn already, figured i needed a bra why not get one...

    i dont like it..

I want the v.s one just wish they carried them in store...

my target suck for maternity too but heard u can get them there

  • I have only bought 2 nursing sleep bras. They will work for the first bit and then I can buy more. Since you don't know what size you'll be stocking up now seems a bit premature.
  • just sleep bras from target.

  • I was told to get a few nursing tanks until my milk comes in and I have a better idea of my size, so I got those at Target.  I also have a couple soft cup nursing bras because they're so comfy and the size is flexible.
  • I bought a few tanks and sleep bras just to get me started.  It's one of those things I know I won't want to deal with as it gets closer.  I bought a few different styles and sizes& whatever doesn't work at the time will be going back.
  • I picked up a few nursing tanks and 1 nursing bra.  The bra that I picked up is sized S, M, L so I felt more comfortable going with that one right now until I know about sizing.

    I got this one:

  • i have - only because the pregancy bras and nursing bras were almost the exact same...I just bought them a little bit bigger and am wearing them now...there is no way i was paying $60 a bra twice....
  • I bought two from Target and they are suuuuuuuuuuuuper comfy.  I was starting to have troubles with my normal bras feeling pretty tight, so I figured I would invest in a couple nursing bras in one cup size up from what I am at.  They still have a little bit of a gap in them, but they're so much more comfortable than having my normal bras digging in to me.

I waited until right abotu 33 wks to get any, though.  My boobs keep growing, and have actually gone through a couple growth spurts since I've hit 3rd tri.  I'm sure I'll end up having to get more, but I am REALLY hoping that I don't end up another size up...I'm a pretty small frame girl and one more size up would put me in DDs and that'll just make me look like a hobbit carrying two watermelons after I give birth. lmao Right now they at least rest on my bump. :P

  • I am trying to start spreading out my expenses so I bought a couple nursing tanks at Target over the weekend.  I have no idea about sizing when milk comes in so I am pretty sure the tanks will get me through the first week or two.

Such a good idea about the sleep nursing bras!

  • I started "collecting" around 30 something weeks or so. I have target ones, victoria secret, platex, motherhood and medala. I like the motherhood and medala sleeping ones, very comfy. I hate the medala normal ones, so ugly (but comfy) so I'm wearing that one at the hospital. Saving my prettier ones for when I'm home, some of the target ones are cute and the VS one is really super nice.?

I've done this once before so I know I'm a 36 C and can fit even with full milk in that size. ?I've never been a fan of nursing tanks, totally personal preference. I like a low neck top I can just pull down (cross neck is even better) and a sleeping bra which is easy to pop open.

  • In the beginning I did because my old ones made me want to throw up from the pressure. I got the biggest size that Motherhood Maternity stocked. But I found a website where they seem relatively cheap. I just need to be measured again so I can get some more. I really like the site because they go up to like...50K I think, and are still 30-35 dollars..Unlike if you get a 36I  courtesy of Nordstroms you'll be shelling out 50+....Trust me...I know.

     Here's the site though:

  • No. The ladies at Motherhood told me to wait until the last month and then they would fit them and leave some growing room for when the milk comes in.

  • I bought two nursing sleep bras from Motherhood and a nursing tank from Target. My breasts haven't grown at all through my pregnancy and they won't get that much bigger when my milk comes in, so it was safe to buy.

This.  I bought two regular bras from MM that had a little room to grow and two sleep nursing bras.  If they don't work, I guess I'll buy more, but I'm hoping they are OK.  Either way, I'm getting use out of them now.  I needed new bras at about 12-14 weeks!

  • I haven't because just not ready to tackle that one right now.  But I did buy two sets of nursing pjs last night.  One is a nightgown from Pea in the Pod and it's so soft and comfy.  And one is a long sleeve/pant set from Motherhood Maternity.  Not as soft but a very cute green pattern.
  • I just bought 2 this weekend - and I am wearing one now - it's so, so, comfortable!  Ah, at least one part of me is comfortable.
