Just wondering how many other people are in this situation. Our families are totally excited, as are we. I have a feeling this baby will be completely spoiled and will always have someone holding her!
I know this is a random thought, an e-mail from a family member just made me think about this again.
Re: First grandchild on both sides?
Moi. I'm an only child, and the hubs for whatever reason is the first to have a baby on his side!
Spoiled baby? Yes. I can only assume.
I was a first grandchild and great grandchild on both sides, and will be having the same on my side, first grandson on DH's side.
They will be more spoiled, guaranteed:)

Yup, our little girl will be first grandchild on both sides. My DH is the oldest of three on his side, and I am the only girl of two on my side.
So yeah, let the spoiling begin. ::sigh::

Everytime I mention that our babe will be the first grandchild on both sides to a stranger, they proclaim how our child will be spoiled rotten because of it :-)
Here too!
first for my side, 2nd for Dh's side but first in about 4 years so they are ready for a baby again! We are OOT from everyone but still, yes, everyone is crazy excited!
Same here. Although SIL is only 16 weeks behind me, so Bebe Ha won't be an only grandchild for very long : )
And on my side, my brother wont have kids for along time... hes responsible, and ill probly have 2 or more before he decides to settle down lol...
Bring on spoiling.. now just hopefully he can learn to walk n be put down at some point
This is me and agreed!
me too! DH and I both have a brother but my brother is not likely to be in a relationship anytime soon and my BIL's fiance has no interest in having anything other than furbabies. So it leaves DH and I to procreate for the both families
I am definitely taking advantage of it. Both moms are on-board for PT daycare when I go back to work.
wife to joe 2.2.08. mama to noah 9.5.09.
After multiple m/c's, a MTHFR diagnosis and the Lord calling both of our hearts in the same direction, we're adopting!

first grandchild on both sides!
well, technically not for my mom, but considering she doesn't have a relationship with my half-brother, who's 20 years older than me and lives in Poland, or my niece, 2 months OLDER than me, this is pretty much her first grandchild she'll be watching grow up.
and my grandmother is so excited for her first great-grandchild! especially since she lives in Argentina, she will actually get to meet the LO next spring for my wedding! whoo!
