Had our first appt and u/s! :)

It was great! The babe is measuring a week and a half ahead, which is always nice to hear. The heart was pumping away and we could even make out little arms and legs. I didn't get a clear due date from my doctor, so I guess I'll stick with the one I came up with and see what she says next time.

After such a wonderful appointment, it's hard to resist the urge to announce it to the world!

I see a few of you here have appts quite early. Are you high risk or were you on fertility drugs? My 1st appt is schedule for 8 weeks, and originally they said I wouldn't even get an ultrasound until 20 weeks! Then they asked if I had IF issues, which I do. Then she said they would probably do one around 8 weeks to make sure there weren't multiples since I was on clomid.

A first appointment around 8 weeks is typical. My doc's office goes by your last period, so according to them I would be 8 weeks. Often your doc will do an u/s at the 8 week appt to confirm the pregnancy. In a healthy pregnancy, it's normal to not have another u/s until the 20 week one.

Congrats!! Iknow what you mean about wanting to tell everyone b/c you are soooo excited!! I'll never forget how bappy I was after my first appt and u/s. Glad things are looking great!

Apparently my dr's office doesn't typically do u/s #1 until the 20 week mark unless you are high risk, have IF issues, etc. So I guess I will be getting one sooner, but I just think it's weird they don't normally do one until week 20. That and I'm annoyed that they never looked @ my history to see that I had taken clomid & should be checked sooner.
