Last Night

So we spent last night in the ER after DH was having an insulin reaction.  It all started when I walked downstairs to go to bed & he was having convulsions.  We have been through these before and I usually just give him gluclose tablets and he will be fine after 15 mins but not this time.  After I gave him his 3rd glucose tablet, he was still convulsing and not responding so I called 911.  He ended up having a seizure while the paramedics were there and that's when they insisted on taking him to the ER.  Thanks to the quickness of the paramedics arriving & giving him a sugar IV, we were released after a couple of hours instead of having to spend an entire day there. 

DH is ok now but it really freaked me out to think & see how quickly he could be taken away from me.  Sorry for the long post, just need to get it out.

    OMG! I couldn't imagine! I'm glad he's doing well and hope it doesn't happen again anytime soon!!!

    I've witnessed my brother convulsing, it is scary.  Luckily you were there when it happened. I'm glade he is feeling better.

    Thats horrible!  How scary.  Our stupid DOG has seizures and it tears me apart ... I can't imagine what it would be like if it was DH or DS  :(

    Oh Teri, I'm so sorry - how scary for you and your DH.  Thank goodness they got there so fast and were able to get him to the hospital.  Big hugs to you, so glad he is okay now!

    Yes, I did have to take Landon with me.  It's amazing that the kid slept through the ambulance, fire truck & police car with their sirens & lights at our house and the 6 people in our bedroom.  I had to wake him up to take him with & he was cranky from there on out and refused to go back to sleep.  We got to know Allen Presby real well after our 5th lap around trying to soothe a very tired & cranky baby.

    OMG that is so scary!  I am glad he is alright!  

    I am like Totty when our dog had a seizure I completely lost it, I can't imagine if that was DH.  :(
