My mom believes that it is the ONLY book I'll ever need to read. Honestly, she's referred to it as the Bible a few times.
Has anyone read it? Is it really that amazing? My hope is to EP, so would I find it useful?
She has been on my case about it since day 1 and I finally told her if she bought it I'd read it. But, how fast I get around to it, is a different story. LOL
Sorry for the million questions.
Thanks for the input!
Re: The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding
I think it might be a generational thing with this book, as it was really the only bf book around for many years. I wasn't thrilled with the "tone" the authors took in several of the sections (too much trying to convince me why bfing is so great) and many of the sections lacked the gritty, problem solving info that I was looking for.
The Nursing Mothers companion was more of my "bible" for practical solutions at 2AM.
This. It is useful but I need some photos and advice. May pick up the Nursing Mother's book.
I think that if your goal is to EP, you'll find it less useful. It's big on the bonding front.
I'd try a book like The Complete Book of Breastfeeding--it's much more comprehensive.
(And I really like Womanly Art--it just sounds like your mom is hoping to change your mind or something.)
