I went in today and my estrogen levels are over 6,000. I am just taking Lupron tonight and have to go back tomorrow and unless my levels drop significantly they are going to cancel my cycle. I don't see them dropping enough over night.

I'm devasted right now knowing that all of the shots and accupuncture 2x/week for the past month will be for nothing and I will have to wait to start a whole new cycle. Has anyone ever been this close to having them cancel and then had it work out?

I'm so sorry. I just had mine canceled for the same reason. My E2 shot up from 4050 to 5500 to 6600 to 7200 before starting to come down. Once it started to come down it did come down pretty quick. Perhaps they can coast you for a day or two and it will come down. It is possible...it didn't happen for me but I think I was not the norm. FX for you that it comes down. Really I know how it feels. It's an awful feeling...like mounring.

My E2 level was some ridiculous # in the 6K range. They let me coast for 2 days. Thankfully I was able to do a retrieval, (my E2 was 11K after taking only half the trigger shot) but I had to wait until the next cycle to transfer. GOOD LUCK!

LALA, I'm so sorry that this happened to you too...it is definitely is like mourning when you are so close and this happens!

Newbaby, how low did your E2 get that they allowed you to do the retrieval?? I know he likes to see it at 3,000, but would maybe go with 4,000.? This morning he mentioned coasting for a couple days but when the nurse called back she said if it doesn't go down tomorrow they will cancel.

He did mention that it they do do the retrieval, they will freeze the embies and do a FET next month, so I think even if they don't cancel completely, they won't transfer them till next month.? It's just annoying because I'm a teacher and hate having to take time off ever other day to go to ER during the school year, so the timing was perfect.

I am so sorry you are feeling down, but please know this is for the best! For IVF 2, my e2 was over 6,000 and my eggs had crappy fertilization and of course it was a BFN. I wish I was cancelled, saving me 5 grand.

I'm sorry. Ask your RE about triggering you with lupron and a little HCG. My RE did this. When I triggered I was above 6000.

However, on a positive side, one night without stimming does cause your e2 to drop--more than you can imagine. Sometimes it drops 1000 points or so---so there is hope!
