  Like it.

  THIS song (it's a youtube) is by one of Husband's favorite bands and when I read Gabriel, this is immediately what came to mind. Especially the line where she says "my angel Gabriel."

  and now I'm all teary listening to it. 

  I'm sold. Go for it.

  Gabe and Gabriel are NMS. I always think of Gabrielle so it seems feminine to me even though I know it's a male name.

  Both are nice. I have several friends (our age) who are named Gabe. Like it a lot.

  i really like gabriel! not crazy with it paired with daniel though because of the repetitiveness (like you said), but it's not awful.

  My first boyfriend (at age 14) was Gabriel and it was the nicest, least drama-filled relationship of my whole life! We're still friends.

  So, I have very positive associations with this name.

  I love it! My best friend's DS is named Gabriel and he is such a boyish/manly little boy (toddler). It suits him perfectly. The child grows into the name, so if you like it, I say go for it.

  Gabriel is lovely, as is Daniel, but they do not flow together at all. Even if you nick it, you'll still have Gabriel Daniel on lots of official papers. It's a bit of a mouthful.
