registering is so much

FUN! my aunts were nagging me to start a registery with a few things so they know what to buy when they buy us presents every paycheck, so my mom and i went to register today. (me and dh had picked out all the stuff before, but he had to work today). we had a blast! i know it's super early to be doing it, but if they insist on buying us stuff every paycheck i would like it to be stuff we WANT. we only have like 45 items at babies r us and like 14 at baby depot, but it will be enough to keep them busy for a while.

    i know, but luckily we have amazing family. we're only 10 weeks, and my mom is ordering the crib and changing table tomorrow (she is paying for both), FIL and SMIL are buying our whole bedding set, which will cost ALMOST as much as the crib, my sister bought us our starter kit for bottles today, my graandpa is almost done with the cradle he is refinishing and fixing up for us, and my aunts are planning on buying stuff as often as they can. So we already have a bunch of major purchases down. oh, and my granny is planning on buying our travel system and our starter kit for cloth diapers. so yeah, i'm stoked.

    Wow, you are lucky to have so much of the big stuff taken care of!  Is it going to be the first Grandbaby?

    on my side yes, one his side it will be the third, second within 2 months actually (his sis is 8 weeks ahead of me), but his dad and step mom still insist on either buying the crib or the bedding set, which i think is cool (but again, they have never done anything for DH, so any involvment it great, but that's a whole new post).

    honestly, i think the part that i love the most is that my gpa is redoing the cradle. it was actually the cradle they bought for me when i would go visit them, and they got a lot of use out of it, and he is refinishing it (well already did, and it looks AMAZING) and updating the hardware so it will meet safety regulations. He is putting so much heart and work into, i tear up everytime i see it, i can't wait for my baby to use it. we plan to use it in leiu of a bassinet in our bed room

    That is so cool, I love that the cradle used to be yours, I think that's just awesome, makes me tear up a little too...

    When the babies get older - it will be fun to have them so close in age!

    There are so many in our family - my side, there are 7 and 3 (all girls) of them are within 2 months of eachother.  By the time this LO come there will be none close in age.  lol, well there will be... The youngest is 4 months old right now.  On DH side there are 5.
