posessed baby monitor

Since we've moved into our house, our baby monitor is posessed!  It makes the most horrid noises in the middle of the night, then continues to make them every 5-10 minutes for an hour or so and I'm stuck up (like C waking me up twice isn't enough already).  The only thing I can think of is that there's so much more going on digitally around here (wireless networks, cell phones, other monitors etc) - that may be completely stupid of me, but it's all I can think of.  It's a sony one I think, recommended in baby bargains adn has worked perfectly until this craziness.

Anyone else had this problem or know of a solution (besides changing the channel settings every day)?

Re: posessed baby monitor

  • Ours does the same thing if it is too close to a cell phone or cordless phone. Makes me crazy in the middle of the night when it starts going off because i moved it too close to check on DS.

  • Loading the player...
  • Ugh, that sounds frustrating!

A friend tells me that the Sony BabyCall 900 MHZ is supposed to eliminate some of this. It's on a different frequency or something than most cell and radio stuff. IDK if it's really that different, but Amazon reviews look pretty good.

That's the one I have!  I'm looking at it right now:  Sony babyCall

It has never done this before, now it's all the time - I've moved my cell phone away from it at night and we don't have a home phone so I don't know what the problem is.

  • UGH! the one thing they say it ISN'T supposed to do...

  • Is there a radio near it is the only other thing i can think of.
  • Does it  have multiple stations? You could try changing it.
