Childbirth/newborn/breastfeeding Classes- North of Pgh??

Does anyone have any good recommendations for childbirth, newborn and breastfeeding classes? Preferable locations would be North Hills area/Shaler/Hampton/Wexford, but City locations are fine. Weekend classes would be awesome, or Mon-Fri in the evenings.

Thanks!!!!!

  • It's probably too far north for you, but Butler Hospital does some great ones.  I went to the Lamaze and the parenting class and the instructor was good.

  • I sent you a private message with some info about classes.  I am new to the boards and it wouldn't let me post here before now.  Let me know if you got the info or not.  If you didn't I'll post it all here for you.

Magee Womancare has some classes available at their Wexford location. You can check out the schedule on Magee Hospital's website.

I know the Childbirth class is only at the hospital.

Here's the schedule for West Penn/Allegheny General & all of their associated hospitals.  You just need to sort through all of their other, general classes on the list.

I'll be taking the lamaze class & also a breastfeeding class at west penn next month.

  • Not sure how north of pittsburgh but here is a link to La Leche League of North Hills https://www.lllusa.org/web/NorthHillsAMPA.html

Not sure if that area works for you so here is the link to the general PA LLLI for PA  https://www.llli.org/Web/Pennsylvania.html

I have not attended any meetings but I have been told they are an excellent resource for BF'ing.  Good luck :)
