We're dog sitting for a friend this weekend and we found fleas on her, lots of them. We flea combed her and washed her and are putting organic stuff on her, but now we found one on our dog. DH wants to get an exterminator but I'm worried about chemicals around me. GAH, so annoyed.
Re: Cries, what should I do?
They are probably in your carpet now so you will have to get your house fogged.
Are either of the dogs on Advantix, frontline plus, or something of the sort?
If not you need to get them on it right away so the fleas on them die and the eggs and larve are killed.
Then, you probably need to find a place to stay for a night while your house gets fogged.
Do you recall how much it was by any chance?
Did the dog die because they left it without any care? If so, I think the ASPCA should be called.
My friend was going to call but the family had their inlaws remove the body. The dog was 12 years old? So I don't know if the vet will report it, it was a horrible situation. They left the dogs with access to a non-AC shed, for a week, in the summer, in FL. They should be thrown in jail IMHO.
I would tell her to call for sure. That is crazy. Isn't it funny that people have enough money to go to Vegas, but not enough to either board their dogs or at least find a friend for them to stay with.
What's worse is they have 4 kids, the kids were with the inlaws but they didn't care enough about the dogs to even board them.
