I posted on 6-12 earlier today and got a lot of helpful tips and all of the ladies there suggested that I post here as well. DD is already 10 months, but I'm considering switching to cloth diapers and am having a hard time sorting through all of the information! Where would you recommend starting? I've been browsing through Jillian's Drawers today and the program they offer with a "trial" of a bunch of different diapers looks like a good starting point. Any other tips/suggestions for a newbie? How many diapers do you have and how often do you do laundry? I'm sure I'll have more questions along the way, but TIA for your help!
Re: Help a total newbie choose a CD option...
I would go with the trial to see what you like. We have way more diapers than we need and I wash every 3-4 days. I would say for a baby you LO's age you could get by with 24 diapers, washing every 2-3 days. Try tallying ever time you change a diaper for the next 3 days and go from there.?We like Pfs and fitteds with wool as the cover. We also have a variety of pockets that are easy for nighttime, quick changes and the grandparents.?
We did the Jillian's trial and I highly recommend it. That way you'll get your hands on the different types of diapers as well as brands. You'll get a better understanding of them and what you think you might like to use in the future. I'd hate for you to invest in a bunch of diapers and then they not work for your LO.
Do you have any cloth diaper stores near you?
