oh my sweet lost sanity

first of all... GOOD MORNING!  :)

2nd of all... my husband is trying to quit smoking...again.  I am very happy about this because I have put my foot down.  Apparently he is not to concerned about his health but it is just way too $$$$ now ($6+ for one pack!)

But I am now ready to boot him out to go do something away from us for the next 72 hrs!  My normally semi grumpy husband has turned into a sarcastic a-hole due to the whole withdrawal from nicotine thing.  OMGawsh!  Plus he decided to stay up till 3 am last night playing Wii golf and now wants me to let him sleep all day... uh, no.

ok sorry for the vent, I am glad he's trying to quit though, but I may kill him.

  • I say whatever makes it easiest for him to quit (i.e. sleep all day) let him do it, just this one weekend.  After that he should be a lot better.  It's REALLY hard to quit cold turkey (even with assistance sometimes) and sometimes sleep is the only way to escape the craving.

    ::hugs::

    I know it's hard to deal with, but you'll all be happy when it's over!

  • I've noticed that its a lot harder to get older people to quit... I wish everyone in my family would quit... EVERYONE.

    Ditto this.  And crunchy cheetos.  Let him have as many bags of crunchy cheetos as he wants.  I swear I put the company in the black when I quit!!  LOL

  • DH quit while I was PG.  The combo of nicotine withdrawl and pregnancy hormones was NOT fun.  GL!  I know it's rough on both ends.

  • Well I think the USMC would be pretty peeved with him if he decided to put on 10 lbs!  LOL!  When I quit after 10 years of smoking I did it cold turkey and it was nothing. I know being able to do that is a rarity though.
  • I just wanted to wish you luck to get through the roughest part of withdrawal.  Can you get my MIL to stop smoking too?  She always complains about not having money.  Well if you stopped smoking and drinking half a bottle of wine a day you'd have a lot more money at the end of the month.

    I hope your DH can get through the worst of it without driving you nuts.  ((Hugs))

  • lol, thanks!  I'm sure he'll be fine.  I really should have talked him out of smoking again when he got out of bootcamp.  He went 3 months without a cig. then picked it right back up... ugh.  See, if I just would have convinced him then to stay quit we wouldn't be doing this.. plus his Drill Instructor's had to put up with his withdrawals and I HIGHLY DOUBT he smarted off to them, lol!
