I need fabric advice

I got my fabric for making my own doubler inserts for my pocket diapers.  I have bamboo fleece and zorb.  I was planning to work on these this weekend, but can't decide if I should wash the fabric to prep it first, then sew them, or sew and then wash.  Opinions?

I am ordering some hemp for the next round?  And will cover with fleece. Wash first?

Wash and dry first definitely or you're going to get shrinkage after you have them all sewn up and they'll be crazy wonky looking. The zorb might not need to be prepped but I recommend prepping any fabric before you sew it so I'd do it just to be safe - the bamboo is a definite.

And yes on the hemp as well - fleece doesn't shrink down but really it's always best to prewash imo just to get store chemicals and stuff off before you start working with it.

THANKS!  I appreciate the opinion.  I would have been working on them now, but the washing question had me stumped.
