kinda irked re:hip pain post

So I called my PCP and talked to her MA, and she scheduled me an appointment next friday, and said that gives me enough time to cancel it if i really want to or if the pain lessons up...

but the thing that irked me is that she said my dr will probably just refer me to physical therapy.. uhh thats it?

no xrays? no drugs? lol jk about the drugs.. but still, what if i dont really need PT? I don't have time to do my laundry let alone go to PT..

  • The longer you wait the longer it could take to fix.  My brother messed up his shoulder and went to the dr several months after the fact and PT told them they could partially fix it but not completely because he waited so long.  I say find the time to go to PT!

One of the girls I work with was telling me that PT really helped her during her pregnancy.  I would go, especially if insurance will pay for it.

I answered your post below but wanted to mention it here too - google piriformis syndrome or piriformis and pregnancy - sounds like this might be your trouble. And indeed, if it is muscular, PT is probably your best bet.

Hang in there - that pain is a biatch! GL!!

  • PT is wondeful!  I went a couple years ago for some overuse injuries.  PT is basically like having a personal trainer (and sometimes masseuse)
