Hospitals with good NICUs in South Jersey

I'm hoping some of you can help me out....  I'm originally a Philly girl, but I now live in DC.  My husband and I will be vacationing with my family in OCNJ in for a week later this month.  I will be 32-33 weeks pregnant at the time, and don't expect any complications, but want to be prepared in the event that I go into labor early.  Which hospitals that are relatively close to OC have a good reputation for L&D, and particularly have a level 3 or 4 NICU?  Thanks for your help!

Re: Hospitals with good NICUs in South Jersey

  • Hi - I live in Ocean County.  Jersey Shore Medical center is a very good hospital and there also a trama center so i would think that's the one you would want to go to.  I know they specilize in high risk.  I have a high risk Dr. that goes there his name is Dr. Carols Fernandaz in case you need it.  If you have any other questions PM me or you can catch me on Sal.

  • Monmouth Medical

  • Monmouth Medical--absolutely.  They have the best high rated NICU and I can tell you (first hand) the l&d nurses are amazing.  (Unfortunately, had to have a d&c but the l&d nurses took care of me and were so, so kind).
  • Having been a NICU nurse for 6 years, I prefer Jersey Shore's NICU to Monnmouth - but there are both TOO far from Ocean City.

Your best bet would probably be CHOP, to be honest and about as far as the other two already mentioned. I'm not sure if AC Med Center has on, in a pinch.
