Car seat head support...

For the LO's here that are a little older...do you still have it in your carseat?  We've debated taking it out, DD has great head control now, but I'm not sure if we should leave it for a while longer, incase she falls asleep or something?

Re: Car seat head support...

  • I kept it in for Becca until she outgrew it

  • My baby is still tiny so I don't have personal experience, but I don't see the harm in leaving it in...

  • Ours is still in, but Kate is pretty small.

  • We took it out a few weeks ago, Logan has great head control and it was adding to how hot the seat already is and made him look a little more comfortable in his seat

  • we still have it in.
  • We took it out about a week or 2 ago. DD didn't like it anymore, she has good head control and it was constricting to her. Plus she does not fight anymore going in the car seat since we took it out.

  • Thanks, I think we might try taking it out.  DD has really good head control, and it's a pain because she's getting to the size where when we put her in the car seat we have to pull up and adjust the head support to go around her head.
  • My pedi said to take it out at our first visit, it can do more harm than good.  It pushes the head forward and can cut off their air supply.  The head tilting to the side has no dangers.
  • Ours is still in but I'm thinking of taking it out soon.
