Are your periods irregular now?

I got my first period 6 weeks after birth (bled for 2 weeks on my period). Now, it's been 36 days and no period.

Pre pregnancy, my periods were 28-31 days. Is this normal for it to be irregular? I'm about to go get a HPT tomorrow, even though there is a very, very small chance.

Re: Are your periods irregular now?

  • I am still waiting to get mine! I have heard though that they become irregular after pregnancy.

  • I thought I was getting my period earlier this week, but it was just really light spotting for a few days and it went away. ?My periods were never that light, so I guess I will keep waiting...

  • Yes they can be irregular for awhile. Are you BFing? If so that can make you not have one for a long time, if it makes you feel better then you can POAS. A lot of women don't get regular PP periods for a while after having their LO's. I have yet to get mine back (thank God) but I also got a Mirena and it has caused me to spot most days.
  • BF'ing may cause your periods to become irregular. I haven't had a "true" period since I had LO. I've had very, very light bleeding occasionally. My OB said this is very normal for women who BF!
  • I should have mentioned, no, I'm FF since week 2. I'm guessing it's still normal but it still freaks me out!
  • I started on the pill a few days after my 6 week PP appointment.  I've had my period for 2 weeks now.  Ugh.  Hopefully it'll straighten itself out before we start TTC again.  haha
