I am leaving tomorrow for a mini trip (only like 2.5-3 hrs.) down to visit friends I haven't seen in over a year now. I haven't been driving much since I left London, but noticed on the last mini trip I took recently, my lower back felt so achy and by the time I arrived, I just wanted outta that car!
Any tips on staying pain-free on a car trip ?? I thought about putting a pillow behind my back but hmmmmm....thought I'd ask you guys what remedies work best for road travel while PG. How often did you take stretch/bathroom breaks? I figured every hr. or so was ok, right?
Thanks!!!
Re: Car Trip Tips?
We drove to Orlando and back (about 9 hrs each way) when I was 23w. I got a lumbar support pillow to use in the car, which really helped. Also, my OB told me to stop every hour (every 2 hrs? I honestly forget now) to walk for 10 mins and that helped a LOT. Since yours is a shorter trip, maybe just stop halfway to walk. And then the obvious things like wearing loose, comfortable clothing, staying hydrated, etc.
Enjoy!
