Diapers too tight?

How can you tell if the diaper is on too tight? We are using pre-folds with Pro Rap classic covers and because the extra goes in front on boys, it just seems like a lot of pressure on his lower abdomen and I worry that it's too tight or uncomfortable on him. Of course he's sleeping like a rock right now so it's probably just me... anyway, any tips to check for tightness?

    I used to worry about this but DS never seems uncomfortable and prefolds always seem to loosen up as soon as he moves a little so I quit worrying.

    A too-tight diaper will leave red marks. Just like too-tight underwear will leave a mark on you. Not just a line or crease on the skin like you might see when you wake up from sleeping funny on your sheets, but a red mark and indentation. But I would try to fold the excess diaper so that it falls under his poochy baby belly, seems like it'd fit better there.
