Breastmilk Decrease???

I have been BF my DS about 12 times a day.  He has been gaining weight just fine as of a week ago.  Over the past few days he gets fussy after eating for a while. At first I was thinking it was reflux, and something was bothering him... but now I am wondering if he is just not getting enough and wants more, and that is what is causing him to get upset.  My breasts feel softer, but I don't know if that means anything. 

How would I know if I do not have enough breastmilk for him?  It hasn't been a problem yet, since he gained about 2 lbs in 3 weeks.  Since I am feeding him 12 times a day, I would think that my body would make enough milk to meet his needs.  Any ideas?

    sounds like a growth spurt.  just keep him on the boob.  i know it's exhausting, but it won't lost forever.

    DD was the exact same way the other day. I pumped when she went to bed and only got 1 oz from each side. I gave up because I didnt know how to gauge how much she was really eating and I was so frustrated. If you can, stick with it. I feel bad that I decided to stop.

    Sounds like a growth spurt to me too. DD is doing this too. I just figured out yesterday that it was a spurt. She usually eats every three hours, but I fed her more often today and she was much more happy. Keep putting him to the breast, as tiring as it may be.

    I HATE GROWTH SPURTS.
