DD has a mild diaper rash...a little red and bumpy. We've had buttpaste on it for a few days. It took her 30 minutes to fall asleep tonight. I just went up to check on her...and she's clearly pooped. I don't really want to leave her until she wakes up (could be 4 or 5 AM) but I also don't want to wake her up.

    I hate when that happens.  I would probably change her because I wouldn't want to leave poop on her for hours.  I would just make sure the room stayed dark, I didn't talk to her, and I would rock her or do whatever it took to help her get back to sleep as fast as possible.

    No by all means let her sleep in poop... it's what all the cool kids do!!!  It's cool to sleep in poo!!

    I'd wake her up. It takes less time to get her changed and back to sleep than it does to clear up diaper rash.
