Q for reflux mamas re: pepcid

How long does it take medicating G for us to notice a difference?  I'm just not sure if the pepcid is working.  Today is her second full day on the meds.  She did somewhat ok during the day, but she's still spitting up quite a bit, choking/coughing during feedings.  The 5-8 timeframe this evening was particularly bad. Lots of spitup in quantity, fussiness, and the typical reflux behavior.  She didn't nap after the 5:00 feeding, though I know she wanted to.  I just fed her and put her down to sleep.

Also, elevating the mattress.  Will she slide down if we elevate it?  I was thinking of putting some books between the boxspring and mattress.  How big should they be?  I was considering using my hardcover twilight books since they seem sturdy and thick. 

 

Any advice is much appreciated!

    J is on mylanta and our dr said give it 7-10 days. We roll a towel up and put it under the mattress. J helicopters in his sleep so he'd move no matter what.
