So Curiosity about the IntelliGender test......

Has anyone taken the IntelliGender test? Was it accurate or should it be just for fun? This is our first baby and I really wanna know. What do you lovely ladies think?

  • If you want to spend the money for it I say do it! I really wanted to but DH didn't want me to spend the money on it. It does say that it is just for fun though (but the couple of people I know that have used it is has been correct for) so take whatever it says with a grain of salt and don't go crazy buying stuff until it is confirmed.

If you do get it let us know what it says!

  • They just did a story on this on our local news. They had a couple do the test and then at 20 weeks they had an u/s and the test was wrong. But apparently if it is wrong you get your money back.
  • **butting in from the 12-24** we were one of the ones that fell for it.  It said girl. Well our son is now 17 months old.  So it was wrong for us. Just wait for the u/s.  Save your money.
  • It tests the pH of your urine which can be affected by what you eat/drink. There is nothing in your urine that can detect the gender of your baby. However, if you have the money to spend and want to try it out feel free. I prefer my non-ultrasound gender predictors to be free since they aren't scientifically accurate.
  • Nope, we will just be patient for our 20 week ultrasound. It's not that far away, though I know it seems like it.

  • I was just about to post this EXACT question! I have already purchased the Intelligender kit...I bought it about a week ago and I have been waiting to make sure I am well into the 11th week before I take it (It says to take it 6 weeks after missed period)

I don't plan to go paint the nursery pink or blue because of it...but I just couldn't help myself from buying it because I am sooo anxious to know what my little "Teddy Bear" is going to be! I am probably going to take it tomorrow or Saturday morning...and just add the results to my little "Old Wives Tales" chart! Here is the chart right now:

BOY = Dad is gaining weight, no morning sickness (no throw up-just feel sick) and my age at conception plus month of conception (32-even numbers=boy)

GIRL = HB was 178 at 8 1/2 week ultrasound, Chinese Gender Predictor

You will probably all make fun of me, but it helps to pass the time while I wait to know and wait to start SHOPPING!! ;-)

So, does anyone else have any results from the Intelligender? It is suppossed to be 82% accurate in "real world results"...

  • we bought the test and it did nothing.  the crystals didnt change and the color of the urine stayed yellow.  It was supposed to be green or orange - we wasted our 30.00.  Guess it showed us that we need to be patient!
  • I took this test and it came out a boy...I will let you know once I find out. DH and i just thought it was fun but didnt put much stock into it. The chinese prediction chart says we are having a girl...sooo which one is right, no idea but it's fun if you got the extra 30$ to spend.

  • Thanks for all of your responses. Well I guess I was already the sucker I bought it yesterday and took it today. It says we are having a boy! That will make my husband happy, but who knows. It is fun to speculate I guess. We just want a healthy baby.

  • So I just got done taking the test and...."It's a Boy" ha ha ha...exactly what I had read on all the reviews yesterday "If it shows a boy result it is not as accurate as a girl result" "Boy results are more often wrong than girl results" So we will see in about 5-9 weeks I guess!!! But I will put it on the chart! Big Smile I think had it come up girl I would be more inclined to believe it based on the reviews I read. I am NOT disappointed since I have more boy ideas for names and nursery than I do for girl...I just really want to have one of each someday, and I did always imagine having a girl first Smile Hey, I have a healthy baby in there and I am happy about THAT!!!
