All the school posts have me a bit weirded out. When does school start these days?!?! My b-day is mid August, and we never started before it - usually late August was when our first day was. So, is it normal these days for school to start this early?

Re: When does school start around you?
We always started after Labor Day growing up because it was sooooo hot in Kansas still and none of our schools had A/C.
Up here they start pretty early and end pretty late because of all the snow days they have built into the schedule.
Despite the fact that you probably not where I am, it sounds a lot like here!
Although I haven't looked to see the schedule...

Our Thanksgiving Day baby 11/22/07
Pregnant with #2 with LPD, uterine polyp/hysteroscopy, DOR (AMH = 0.17), 2 c/ps

The elementary and middle schools in my school district are on year-round, and the high school starts at the end of the month.
#1 goes to private pre-school at our temple though (will go there through kindergarten), and he did the summer camp program which ended yesterday, and he will start for the fall semester on the 24th of August. (There are a lot of days off in September though for Jewish high holidays).
My Three Sons
#1: 2.06 #2: 1.08 #3: 9.10
DS #3 diagnosed at birth with panhypopituitarism - lack of pituitary function. He is treated with thyroxine, hydrocortisone, growth hormone and testosterone.
I always started Mid-August in Oklahoma so that school let out the end of May, and families could manage harvest season better (June has a lot of winter wheat ripening)
My kids start school the Tuesday after Labor Day and get out the first Friday in June. We have no spring break, but rather an Easter break (Good Friday thru the Tuesday after Easter Sunday)
