My mom has the Swine

in 3rd Trimester
Ok not sure you you ladies remember but two weeks ago my mom had shingles. Now my mom is being treated for the Swine Flu. What the hell is she doing? She lives eight hours away but she is suppose to travel to be here with me Aug 26th. I know plently of time to recover right, well not so much. She already suffers from Lupus which effects her immune system and joints. Im afraid that if the results come back positive from swine she may not recover from this. This is crazy!!!! I can't go down and take care of her. I told her to stay put for the next three weeks. Dad can go shopping for her and hopefully my older brother who lives at home can pitch in. This is just so frustrating. What am I to do?

    Yikes! I would feel bad, but I probably would NOT let her come that soon... I wouldn't want to risk it...

    Your poor mom!  Is she doing or taking anything to boost her immune system?  Zinc, echincacea, vitamin C, Emergen-C, Chiro, acupuncture...all things that can help boost her immune system naturally!

    Right now just try to relax.  Getting upset isn't going to help the situation (I know easier said than done) but you really should try.  Your dad & brother will handle everything...if it will make you feel better keep tabs that they are doing their work.

    Many natural supplements that "boost" the immune system are not good for people with Lupus. Since the body's immune system essentially attacks "non-sick" parts of the body, boosting it isn't a good idea because it will attack more. Acupuncture might be helpful though...
