I nurse DD about 99% of the time, but I have been pumping since she was 2 weeks old so DH could give her the occasional bottle. At one point, he was giving her a bottle every night for her last feeding, and she had no problem with it. Recently, I started nursing her at night again instead. A few nights ago, DH tried to give her a bottle of BM so I could relax and have a drink, and she wouldn't take it! We tried again last night, same thing! She will take a bottle from my mom when we go out, or from DH when I'm not there, but if I'm home she screams her head off when he tries to give it to her, and looks at me as if she's thinking "This isn't the real thing. What are you trying to pull?" Has this happened to anyone? Any advice?? TIA!

Re: DD will not take a bottle if I'm home
Yes! I would have to leave the room if DH was going to give DS a bottle. He used to scream his head off if he knew I was there!?
He sometimes would fight the bottle even if I wasn't there. We ended up trying several different kinds of bottles and finally found one he liked better.
I would just try leaving the room and see how she does. HTH!?
DD#2 was like that. She wouldn't even take a bottle from anyone new for the first few times she "met" them - like the sitters or whatever. Anyway, in the end, I just BF her if I was home and DH or sitters gave bottles when I wasn't. Have you tried leaving the room so she can't see you? Maybe she'll think you're not there? Never worked for me, but it's worth a try.
BTW - FWIW, I had a drink once in a while when I was BF both the girls and still BF them. I didn't have a ton or get drunk or anything, but a glass of wine in the evening once in a while...
look at it this way: if you were craving chocolate like nobody's business and your favorite chocolate in the world was on the counter would you eat the ok chocolate bar on the table? Probably not. Try leaving the room or even the house if you are needing a break.
As for drinking I was always told that if you drink it right after you nurse you should be fine by the next time you nurse. And that it would actually be fine to drink while you are nursing because it takes a bit for the alcohol to hit your syste.
