My husband got a FACEBOOK message this morning from his new stepmother (10 years older than us) that they will be coming to visit us Saturday.
Backround is that we see them about once a year and hubby hasn't heard from his dad in at least a month. Dad has a new wife and new kids (one younger than our daughter) and is busy being a full time parent.
My DH calls his dad and learns that they will be stopping by on the way home from Houston (live in Dallas) to see us and will be by early on Saturday morning and will be staying until Sunday.
I am thrilled that we will get to see them, but miffed that they gave us no notice. We had plans this weekend, which we will be cancelling. We also planned for DD to stay with a friend so we could go out Friday night and enjoy sleeping in Saturday morning. She'll still stay, but no more sleeping in.
Oh well, rant done. Off to do an inlaw style cleaning on the house and buy some food so we can feed them.
Re: Pain in the rear inlaws
Wow. This is part of the reason I hate FB (it's ruining normal communication; even among adults!).
