2nd Trimester

I still can't feel any movement

I still haven't felt any movement. Not one flutter.

I know baby is fine, because we had our ultrasound on Thursday and it was bouncing and kicking away....but measuring about 10 days behind.

But it sucks!! Hurry up, baby....

Re: I still can't feel any movement

  • The easiest way for me to feel our little boy is when I'm laying on my back and I put my hands on my baby bump. I usually have to be pretty patient with him but some of the time I will feel him roll around or kick.

It is still early to be feeling movement (according to my doctor) and you're only a week ahead of me! At least you know that your LO is healthy and will be kicking away soon!

  • If she is measuring 10 days behind, you edd might be a little early. Even so, many women don't feel movement until 20-22 weeks and you aren't even supposed to do kick counts until 24.

Rest easy, I am sure babe is fine.

ETA: kick counts start at 28, NOT 24.

    sorry.

  • the only time i feel distinct movement is when i'm laying still watching tv in the evening.  every once in awhile i'll feel he/she tumble around during the day, but i'm usually too busy to notice. LOL

i hope it comes sooner, rather than later! :) its THE most amazing thing i've ever felt. :)

  • I did not feel any movement until I was 24 weeks. So don't worry it will happen. My little peanut doesn't always move hard enough for me to feel.
  • try not to worry.  When I was 19 weeks I would go days without feeling anything.  It's only been since 25 weeks or so I've felt him move every day.

  • Very reassuring post--thanks, ladies.  I'm in the same boat but I won't have another u/s until September.  Hearing the hb serves as my reassurance in the meantime.
  • I'm measuring a week ahead, so I'm about 21 weeks and I still only feel occasional flutters.  I wouldn't worry if you have seen baby on ultrasound!
  • I didnt feel ANYTHING until 20w6d so be patient. The real kicks didnt come until about 26w or so.
