What do you do on car rides? We stay home more often than not because my daughter screams her head off on car rides. I bought her a toy that goes across her carseat because I though the distraction would help. A pacifier is futile because it pops out two seconds after I put it in.
Re: Those whose LOs HATE the car/carseat
If a car ride lasts longer than 15 minutes, I am in for it. I rotate:
-shaking a water bottle
-paci/teething toy
-crumpling & ripping paper
-playing with her feet
-humming on the top of her head (this puts her to sleep if she's worn herself out with all the fussing)
pray
someone rides in the back with him. if I'm alone, I plan trips when he's fed, dry, and its not necessarily naptime. Sometimes its an ok ride, sometimes its a screamfest, sometimes he falls asleep without a peep. But he's almost 5 mos now. At your LO's age, it was mostly a screamfest and I stayed home all day.
Honestly, at that young, unless someone is in the back with her nothing is really gonna help much.
Sorry I don't have anything better. I've been there though and it friggin sucks!
WHITE NOISE CD
For reals. DD screamed in the car for 4 months. One day I popped that into the CD player, cranked it up, and she immediately fell asleep. She's been great ever since. I swear it's worth a shot.
