  Those days are over. 

  We use thirsties covers or wool. Instead of pins, most people use snappis.

   

  I tried pins once when we didn't have a snappi, and it was a massive fail. I was too scared of sticking DD with the pin to get it tight enough.

  I use Thirsties covers and lately I've just been trifolding the prefold (and fanning it out a little in the back), laying it in the cover, and putting it on the baby just like an all in one. She's so squirmy that even the snappi is hard right now! But yes - the days of rubber pants and pins are over, thank goodness! Some ladies here use pins, but they are braver than I am! 

  ETA: We do have some wool and I snappi the prefold on when we use the wool. Since she's been such a squirmer lately, the wool hasn't been getting much love. Fitteds would be nice with wool...

  Thanks to the kind folks on this board, I went with Thirsties covers.  My DD, who was born at 7lbs, 9oz has been wearing the X-Small Thirsties.  I have five of them, which works perfectly well for us.  We use Snappis for the prefolds.

  We have snappis... only two now, but I'll order more when Jillian's restocks their KL0s.  We have 6 covers- 3 proraps, 2 thirsties and a bummis.  No reviews on how they all work though... I can only go on what reviews I've received... and they've all been "Good" "great" or Excellent" for those covers.
