What's the deal w/ them? I have a few things now (both wood) and they said "nontoxic dyes" on the pckg, but they also say they conform to all US safety standards. Wup-de-doo, right?

I don't buy them. I bought a ring stacker a year or so ago and got it home only to realize that it was MIC. I promptly returned it. DH ended up making one for the kids
I believe they have a few items that are Egypt made? (someone correct me here if I'm wrong).
Either way, not made in the US. I won't buy their stuff anymore. I think it's mostly because so many people think they are made herea and they don't show prominently enough that they are MIC... IMO.

We don't have any here because they're MIC. Also, their puzzles are made of mdf. I know a lot of people like them since they're the most widely available wooden toys around, but they are not the most EF or safe in my opinion.
I definitely wouldn't call them the most EF toys around, but I like them because they're all simple toys that actually encourage kids to use their imagination. Combined with being more readily available for people to get their hands on and the fact that they actually put the effort into using non-toxic dyes and try to use quality products and not just plastic, I still much prefer them to a majority of other easy-to-find toys!

I won't buy them either. I thought they were good until I investigated the label... We buy Haba wooden toys. However, some of the Haba toys have cloth accents and that part is MIC.

We won't buy them either because of the MIC deal.
