for those of you who've had successful IVF cycles how long do you take the PIO shots?? I'm almost 7 weeks and my back muscles are starting to get real sore from the shots. Hoping its just through the first tri??
I took them until about 9-10 weeks. I could have stopped at 8 weeks but my RE told me to wait until my next OB u/s which was delayed by a week pushing me to the 9-10 week period.
I hated every extra day!! Good luck, I feel your pain.
i was only on them until 7 weeks. I was on those and endometrin suppositories 3 times a day. At the 7 weeks.. I was allowed to stop the shots and continue on the endometrin until I was 10 weeks. Then I was done altogether! Good luck!
I am still taking PIO shots, but was told to stop next Tuesday, which will mark just over 10 weeks... initially my RE had told me that they are generally taken 10-12 weeks. I am a bit nervous to stop taking them, even though it will be a huge relief. At 10 weeks gestation the placenta is producing enough progesterone on its own....

I know I'm late on this but I took them for 8 weeks. I was having shooting pain near my tailbone that went away fairly quickly after stopping them. Sometimes if I walk for a long period, it still gets sore there but it is not shooting - I can't wak - pain. Good Luck!!!
Re: ? for IVF vets
it's realllly quiet here at night...
I did not do IVF.. but I have seen many times it's just 9-12 weeks.

My RE switched me from PIO to the suppositories at 8 weeks. I then continued the suppositories through the end of the first tri.
8 weeks. I couldn't wait to stop I was so sore from them and after two years of needles wanted it to be over.
As long as your BW is good, you should be on them much longer. GL and Congrats!!

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
UGH, my ob made me do them until 12 weeks and 6 days!! She also made me continue endometrium until then too.
