Anyone else get lightheaded all the time?

I swear almost every time I get up from sitting/lying down I get lightheaded and really bad tunnel vision. I have an appt on Monday so I will definitely be mentioning this. I don't remember it being this bad with DS. Anyone else have this?

Re: Anyone else get lightheaded all the time?

  • All the time for me, if I get up too fast I tip over faster then a drunk
  • Loading the player...
  • Yup. I responded to the heartbeat post...I have a racing heart, shortness of breath and dizziness. Almost all the time. It's really frustrating because I need to sit a lot and I work on my feet.
  • this was happening to me, my doc said to drink more water and then try to get up slower, he said b/c we have more blood in our bodys it tends to pool in our legs
  • I feel dizzy at random times, drives me crazy!
  • oh this was just for the lightheaded, not for increased heart rate being out of breath!
  • I had this all the time. It finally eased off around 22 weeks. Numerous midwives told me "get up slower" when I asked about it.
    .
  • Thanks! It's the worst in church. I guess it's the sitting down standing up through the mass that makes it worse!

  • I get extremely dizzy if I stand in one place for more than a minute at a time. So on Monday at my OB appointment, I brought it up.

Me: "I've been getting really dizzy lately, my heart starts beating really fast and my vision gets blurry."

Dr: "Oh, like after you climb up a flight of stairs or have walked for a while?"

    "No, like...when I stand."

    "Hahahahahaha."

    "...No, really."

    "Haha. You're fine."

He always gives these kinda of answers. Same thing happened when I asked about his policy on inducing labor. He pretty much said "well if you really want the baby out we can just schedule a c/s for 39 weeks." Um...

But, he's the best doctor around here so I guess I can put up with it.?

Oh my! He sounds special. I know how much of a pain it is to have to travel to a different OB. I did that with DS and it was a PITA. ?Luckily we have moved since and I have a midwife that I love! Is there a MW in the office you could see?

I got it all... dizzy, fast heartbeat, lightheaded... it's all that crazy baby blood we're all making!  Our bodies can't keep up...

And at church it's the ABSOLUTE worst!  I've taken to standing for as long as I can, and then sitting when I can't stand any longer... I figure Jesus will understand.  He's a very understanding guy.
