Old Wives Tale opinions about heartbeats

We heard the baby's heartbeat yesterday and it was 159. I've heard that if it is constantly above 140 it's a girl. And below 140 is a boy. Obviuosly these things aren't an exact science, I was just wondering what you though and what your experiences are with it. Thanks!!

From what I have heard you can't judge by the heartbeat until later on. I believe right now all babies are still on the high side..

Back when Dh was born they didn't do ultrasounds. So they based gender on hb. Based on DH's hb which was fast, they predicted he was a girl. Well they were wrong. DH's aunt was told she was going to have a boy because hers was slower. She had a girl.

You can't judge by the hb ever. This is why it's an OWT.

FWIW, my LO's hb was always high, and I'm having a boy.

Nope. ?DS was 180s in the 1st tri and 150s by the time I delivered.?

Yeah, this works about 1/2 the time-- flip a coin and you won't even need to go to the Dr.

DS was in the 160s up until I delivered. DH was sure we were having a girl bc of it (we chose to be surprised). I won the bet bc I just had a feeling it was a boy.

OWT!! SORRY! DS and this LO are in high 150's the whole time pretty much and they are boys. Then my best friend was pregnant with a lil girl and hers was 120. No truth in it at all. Better off just randomly guessing, its the same thing!
