That is what I'm doing. I'm going to do a fabric mural with wood, bird, and forest animal inspired mod prints on one wall. Then I'll do some sort of Pooh bedding and maybe some wall hangings, we also have Winnie the Pooh border paper.
I am a "less is more" person. Find a few bigger things which are Winnie and really will make a statement in the room. Then do everything else in complementary colors and small patterns.
In the past, I have gone crazy over a theme and then the room ends up looking like an acid trip.
With Pooh being so common for baby decor I would shoot for the vintage Pooh stuff, old school unique pooh stuff and it will look really cute! Plus it should be easy to find.
You could go with the obvious and buy Pooh bedding or you could go more subtle and buy the Wendy Bellissimo honey bee bedding (or something similar) and add in touches of Pooh around the room, add in colors from Eyore and Tigger, with other things like that which would be subtle hints at Pooh....but just my 02

Thats what I plan on doing, registered for Pooh items (laundry bad, sheets, mobile, quilt). I don't want an overwhelming Winnie the Pooh character everywhere, so I pulled the browns, greens and yellow colors from the items and will have solid colors from bumper, wall color, and window treatments. I love the cartoon winnie pooh theme rather then the classic winnie the pooh.
DH and I are doing a Classic Pooh theme. However, we're going to paint the walls with big murals of the characters (using an overhead projector) then just use solid colored sheets and maybe a light green and brown striped skirt of some sort. We're not using bumpers, and we'll have a mobile from Classic Pooh. I don't want it to look like AA Milne threw up everything Pooh in there.
Oh! We're also using a tip from my aunt and putting in different textures on the animals for the LO to feel as they get older (sorta using the idea of the kids books that have different patches of "fur" for the chicks, bunnies, etc).
We are doing a subtle vintage pooh theme for our nursery. We are looking for a simple pooh print to do the curtains with. I am putting babies name on the wall with wood letter and decoupaging vintage pooh images onto them. We bought pooh stuffed animals that we will put on a shelf. Other than that we will have a few blanket with the theme as well. We wanted to keep it subtle so we didn't register for anything pooh. We were afraid if we did than everything would be pooh.
Besides this will probably get just a couple pooh accessories like stuffed animals or a lamp. Everything else will be plain in coordinating colors (curtains, walls, etc.)
