  • I was about 40-50 lbs above "ideal" body weight for my height.  (I'm 5'10" and was around 185-195 lbs).  Total now, I've gained 9 lbs.  My MW doesn't want me gaining more than 15-20 lbs total.  By my 21 week appt I was only 6 lbs up.

  • I gained like 20 extra pounds in the last year. Moving so far away from home was not easy for me and food was my friend. I am 19 1/2 weeks and I have gained 3 pounds. Im only 5' 2 though so I have the bump luckily not the extra weight!

  • I was 20 lbs overweight when I got pregnant, and I've gained 30 lb by 21 weeks :(  I was working out really hard before I got pregnant, had lost about 60 lbs, but this pregnancy has completely wiped me of all energy. I have been walking and swimming, but it's not enough to keep it off. I gain weight SO easily.

I gained a lot in the first tri because I was eating to stop the nausea. My midwife isn't too worried, and the OB I've seen a few times hasn't mentioned it either. I know I'll be able to lose it after baby is born, so I'm trying not to stress.

  • my weight has been flucuating both before my BFP and after- at my last apt a little over a week ago I was up 2 lbs but since then I think I have lost those 2 lbs.  I was way more "fluffy" then you girls so my dr is not worried at all out how my weight is changing

  • I was fluffy pre-pregnancy.. And I have gained about 15 pounds. Mine was mostly eating tons in the first tri to stop the nausea and the constant stomach growling. And the fact that I am too tired to work out. A full day at work just about wipes me out, not to mention, dinner, dishes, laundry, etc.
  • I was about 30 pounds overweight pre-pregnancy. Due to HG and lots of vomiting and little fluid/food staying in my body, I am down 10 pounds. I gained 1/2 a pound back I found out today at my doctors appointment because I finally got put on Zofran, so they want me to gain back what I lost if I can.

  • I was "chubby" prepregnancy.  I'm down a total of 11 lbs from before BFP.  Not sure when i will start gaining but the baby is healthy.

  • I thought I was heavy, but my dr hasn't said anything to me about pre-pregnancy weight or my weight now. I've lost a pound total. I'm pretty muscular but I hate weighing what I do.
  • when i expressed concern about my weight gain, my midwife just tried to tell me not to worry, that baby was very healthy.  And not to feel guilt over eating certain foods, as long as you eat them with "love", it will only bring you good LOL

It is hard mentally for me to gain back this weight after working so hard to lose it, but like I said before, I know I will be able to lose again once I get some energy (and self control!) back. I was doing weight watchers very successfully and working out 5-6 days a week, and I just can't do that right now. I walk or swim at least 5 days, but I definitely don't watch my calories most of the time.

  • I was probably 50lbs overweight - although very muscular from years and years of soccer. ?Anyways, I've gained 14lbs. since I got pregnant. ?But, like most of you, my OB hasn't said anything about weight before or since pregnancy. ?No biggie, I was just thinking today on my way home from work how I'd love to look like an A&F model after Hank comes. ?HA! ?Nah, just want to get back to what I weighed when I met DH.

  • I started out about 90 lbs overweight and lost about 15 lbs in the first tri.  So far I've gained about 5 lbs back.  Not too bad...my doctor seems happy with it.  I was told to only gain 15 lbs during my pregnancy.

  • I was overweight prepregnancy and since have only gained 1 pound up til 16 weeks then between 16& 20 i gained 11 pounds.

  • I am almost in the same boat as the pp. I am about 50-60 lbs over my "ideal" weight, as well. Some is muscle. At least 30 lbs is fat, though. MD hasn't said anything about my weight gain overall, although I know it should be about 15 lbs due to my BMI. So far, I am down anywhere from 3 to 6 lbs from my pp weight due to the nausea.

  • I lost 5 lbs in the first trimester and have gained 3 lbs back.  So, all total, I've lost 2 lbs.  My doctor is okay with this for now but says I should start gaining weight now.  She wants me to gain 10-15 lbs.

I was about 50 pounds over the top of what I should have been for my height and build. I lost 2 pounds and then this past time still haven't gained any. The Dr. wasn't concerned. Also keep in mind, I have no hunger or cravings, was sick for the 1st 4 months and still have food and smell aversions. SO I'm not eating even what I would if I wasn't pg. I'll will probably gain some during the 3rd tri, though since my ability to eat and not get sick is increasing.
